Elite Academy is so GREAT!! My daughters are excited to go to class each week. I have seen so much growth and improvement in both of them. Elite Academy really does produce exceptional dancers and happy, confident kid.
- Marcie Christensen
My daughter Maryn had a great experience this year at Elite Academy Montessori. She loved her teacher Ms. Cheryl and enjoyed learning and preparing for Kindergarten. She made new friends and went on some fun fieldtrips. (Her favorite was visiting the Hoagle Zoo.) The other highlight of her year was learning to speak Spanish. I was so impressed by all of the vocabulary words she acquired! (Thanks to her wonderful teacher, Ms. Maria.) I personally loved their big, spacious and clean classroom area. I would highly recommend Elite Academy to anyone looking for an excellent preschool.

My daughter NaCole went to Elite Academy at the age of seven. We had been dancing at a small studio that we loved but, when my oldest daughter Amanda tried out for drill team we found out quickly that she didn’t have the technique that she needed. At that time Leslie was the drill team advisor and Amanda had to work extra hard to get on the same level as the other girls, so we thought we had better move Nacole to Elite Academy so she could start much younger to learn proper technique.I can’t say one bad thing about Elite Academy. They are very organized. Notes will always let you know what is going on. (That is a plus) After seven years with Elite Academy, NaCole is now dancing with Odyssey 2 and I miss the organization. Now we never know what is going on until the time it is to happen. Elite Academy inspired my daughter to be a hard worker and to showcase her art and passion to the best of her ability. She had many opportunities to perform at Jazz Games, Professional Soccer Games, on Cruise Ships, Competitions and took classes at Steps on Broadway in New York City. We also got the opportunity to travel to Florida and Canada.I can tell you with confidence, there is no other studio like Elite Academy that has a program like they do for ages three and up. If you send your child to Elite Academy you will know that the staff will work hard at improving them to the best of their ability. They work hard with lots of structure and let the students have loads of fun. We loved it there and I always thought I was getting my money’s worth!!!

Elite Academy has been a big part of my granddaughter’s life from kindergarten to high school and she would not trade a minute of it. Her years there have taught her about team spirit, dedication, responsibility, commitment, sportsmanship and friendships. The added bonus to this is her dance skills. She has grown with self confidence into a teenager who can handle both happiness and disappointment, because she always knew everyone at Elite cared as much about her as a person as they did about her dance skills.Because of the values and technique that she learned at Elite she is a senior member and officer on her high school drill team. She will always be proud to say she is part of the EliteAcademy family.
-Jacki Peercy
Elite Academy has been a fantastic dance studio for my daughters. The training they received was what they really needed to give them the cutting edge in dance. Elite Academy pushed them to the next level, not only as group dancers, but solo performers as well. Their experience during those years was not only invaluable, but fun and memorable. My daughters are now both Utah Jazz Dancers. I know that without the training and skills they learned at Elite Academy, they would not have been able to dance professionally. It was a perfect choice for us.

When my son started at Elite Academy, he was very shy and soft spoken, within a few weeks, I noticed him blossoming, he was talking more and overall seemed to be more energetic and confident. I feel that the teachers are 110% devoted to teaching and helping the children grow in this very difficult time in their lives when they are transitioning from being at home to going to school, this can be a very hard time for the child (and the parents) but the staff at Elite Academy made this transition a very positive experience, I would recommend this school to anyone considering preschool for their child. We have also gone to several dance classes and summer camps, my children have loved them and I always feel safe that they are in good hands with teachers that genuinely care about them and their success in life.
From a very happy parent
- Stephanie
We have had the Elite Academy staff come and do a cheer camp at Granger High School for the past three years. The training has been incredible and has really mad a difference in the whole entire year. The cheerleaders improved tremendously throughout the camp. We’ve learned routines that have been used for performances throughout the school year. The Elite Academy cheer camps are highly recommended from Granger High.

Meet Cheryl!
Montessori Education is a system for the education of children from birth through age eighteen. It is based upon principals developed by Dr Maria Montessori throughout her life.
The focus of this system is the development of materials, educational techniques, and observations, which support the natural development of children. The teacher in a Montessori classroom serves less as an “instructor” and more as a guide and facilitator. Children are encouraged to “learn how to learn,” thus gaining independence and self-confidence. Because the method is based upon developmentally appropriate activities, the child often learns through the process of education by doing.
The Montessori classroom is designed to accommodate various stages of development in children, which occurs in roughly three-year cycles. From birth to three years of age the child is absorbing directly from the environment, almost as a sponge. It is during this phase that many language and motor skills are acquired without formal instruction.
During the second phase form three to six years of age, the child reaches a different stage in which repetition and manipulation of the environment are critical to the development of concentration, coordination, independence, and a sense of order. The child learns skills for everyday living, sorting, grading, classifying – all of which lead to the development of writing, reading, and a mathematical mind.
A Montessori classroom allows a greater flexibility in meeting each child’s individual needs and permits the child to develop with fewer social transitions. The environment becomes the “teacher,” with the child as the initiator of his/her own education.

Leslie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and criminal Justice at the University of Utah where she was also a member of the cheerleading squad for three years. Leslie trained at the university of Utah ballet and modern departments and also at the edge dance studio in Hollywood California. Leslie was the assistant coach of the University of Utah cheerleading squad for eight years. During this time the cheerleading squad won the USA national championship in 2001 and 2002 and was ranked as one of the top 15 teams in the nation. As the director and owner of Elite Academy, Leslie has kept busy in the many avenues of dance. Leslie has choreographed routines for several high school dance, drill and cheerleading teams, which have gone on to win regional, state, and national titles. Leslie’s hard work has not gone unnoticed; she has been awarded “Director of the year” and “choreographer of the year” as a result of the success of Elite Academy. Leslie has also worked privately with several music artists and has choreographed commercials for Channel 2, The Utah Jazz and has also been a dancer in several television commercials for fitness equipment. Leslie’s objective is to teach her students the skills necessary to become accomplished dancers while teaching them the life skills that will benefit them long after they quit dancing. However, the most important quality that Leslie tries to instill in her students is self confidence, a quality that she feels many young children and teens are lacking. Dance has given Leslie so many amazing opportunities and she loves sharing her passion with all of her students.
